Poetry and The Movies.

Growing up I loved things that made me jump out of this world: Music, books, poetry and  movies. I will be   dedicating this blog to my love of movies and screenwriting. I already have a blog dedicated to my love of music and poetry and books. I thought what a better way to out my nerdniness than through a blog that I share with my fellow class mates. :P Okay so it's kinda obvious that I am a nerd. But whatevs

Like in my other blog, I think I am starting to jump all over the place with my thoughts. But this is the way my brain works for some weird reason. I am kinda going stream of conciseness style Sorry..

You know people kinda question why I love movies and poetry? Is that such a shameful thing?  Can poetry and screenwriting not be combined? Hell the greatest of French film makers were also great poets. So why the hell is it such a bad thing?

Anyhow, I have grown into a passion for movies. Screenwriters like the Coen Brothers or Terrance Mallick are like poets in my eyes. They grace the page with words that are just beautiful to me. After all screenwriting is an art.

I have always had a passion for movies Although my true love for movies didn't come into fruition till I was in High School. However, as a child I still remember watching movies over and over again. Movies like The Rocketeer and Aladdin I pretty much know by heart. The first movie I remember watching over and over again was Never Ending Story. The story about a kid named Atreyu who got picked on. One day he walks into a bookstore, opens up a book and is instantly transported into a world where he makes friends with a giant dragon/dog thing. Atreyu from then on became my homie. He got picked on simultaneously as I did. Though unlike him I had no where to run.  So yeah that concludes my post for today.

If you've never seen The NeverEnding Story here is the trailer. So this is the first time I've posted a video on this blog. Maybe I'll continue to do it. It's not such a bad idea. :
