- Write a procrastination poem, or as I like to call it a “I’ll get to it tomorrow” poem. Or…
- Write a proactive poem, or the old “I’ll get to it today” poem.
Try
I try to take deep breathes
As I enter the unknown world
I try to break myself free of the chains
That wrap themselves around my throat
As I meet new people.
I try to hold on to the edge of the cliff
But I need to do more than that
I need to DO
It’s easier said than done.
I push myself but it’s though
The knife I placed between my heart and myself
Is digging itself deeper
I try to be a new person
Try to show that I can talk for myself
But there are pounds of self-esteem
That load themselves around my back
I’ll get it done it done I say to myself
But it seems that every time I get close
To this “Holy Grail” it disappears
And I am off trailing somewhere in the woods again
