So this blog and the poem proceeding is for my pal Sopphey.
It seems that sometimes we sit and ponder life like it is going to give us the answers. But as we sit and ponder we know that life is just like the rest of us. It is lazy and doesn't want to serve us with a golden platter. We are too dumb and young to realize this...yet at the same time we are too wise to let things like this bother us.
"How can one be so old and so young at the same time"
for Sopphey
For the old and the young all in one
You seek golden desserts
to find answers
that that you carry yourself
Should your soul be split in two
between the gray
and the field of lilies?
We walk the earth
with excess baggage
because we are neither young nor old
Your wise words
dodge mines
because they are young
Your wise ears
listen to whispers
because they are still growing
The trees tower over you
and lend you advice
You travel down a river
and you don't forget a paddle
You follow the fox through the Forrest
you take age and choke him
till he bleeds.
