Poetry now never = $

Sometimes I sit here at the computer screen and wish it was a typewriter. Not because I like type writers(Although I really do) It's because back when typewriters were still being being used, poets used to get money for their work a lot more often. Sure, they still couldn't use it as a job but they got paid. It seems that now a days things have changed with poetry and $. Maybe, it's because of the lack of attention that the poetry magazines get. So I urge you all who are part of this movement to start submitting your work. Submit it today or tomorrow.

It seems that more and more literary magazines are expecting you to not get paid if you want to submit your poetry. Yes, there are some that give you money. But not as many as there used to be. I wish I could have been part of the Beats. They got paid a shit load at least this what I understand...from reading biographies and other works. To live like a bohemian is all fine and good but I don't think you can even live that life in these life and times....especially not in America.
